The Squadron put in a vastly improved performance at this year’s Wing Field Day, with an impressive 3rd place for the Aircraft Recognition team. Despite a tough competition, the team of Adedeji, Messenger, Turner and Whipps, performed really well to record one of the Squadron’s highest placings for years! Many congratulations to the team, and WO Lidinson and CI Pollard who have been training with them.
The drill team, too, have been training hard, and drew praise from the Corps Warrant Officer, WO Mansfield, for their creditable performance. Despite the pressure, Sgt Rees led the team under sweltering conditions on the Woolwich Barracks square. Although we have not yet heard final placing for this competition, all of the cadets should be proud of their hard work, massive improvement in standards, and enormous effort they have put in to training with WO Ingram, CWO Adams and FS Nixon.
With the Squadron also entering the aircraft modelling (Cdt Whipps) and photography competitions (CWO Adams, Cpl Ashbey), this was a positive year for the competitive elements of our training. Well done to all the cadets for their efforts – let us keep this standard moving forward!
