A Squadron team travelled to Pirbright Camp to compete in this year’s Inness Sword – a test of military skills in a team of eight cadets. Across two days, and a range of activities, including drill, physical fitness, and various military challenges, the Squadron’s team did really well to come in 16th overall, out of 28 London units. This equals our best result in the last five years.
But the team leader, Sgt Rebecca Fogarty, was not satisfied: “I’m happy we did well in some events – and really proud of the 5th place in the stretcher runâ€, she explained. “But we made it tough for ourselves in places, and there’s a lot to work on for next yearâ€.
With a new sense of pride and energy in the Squadron, the coming year looks to be an exciting one for 1921’s cadets. Staff and cadets are starting to work and believe in their achievements. And perhaps even a higher placing at the Inness Sword is not out of reach after all!
