As well as our aviation training, we aim to deliver life skills to cadets. Nowhere is this more critically demonstrated than in our First Aid training where we will have delivered nearly 40 cadet course places this February.
After an extensive period of staff training at the end of 2014, cadets have started to reap the rewards of our training and investment. Three separate British Heart Foundation Heart Start courses have been run through February, getting all of our First Class cadets, and some senior cadets trained to the early life saving techniques of CPR and major trauma.
Ten cadets have successfully completed the more advanced St John Youth First Aid course during half term; which covers a much more complex range of scenarios and incidents to manage. We look forward to confirmation of the awards and certificates and badges in due course.
Well done to all involved & let’s hope this remains a theoretical skill, rather than one you ever need to use!
