After incredible success with 1921 (Lewisham) Squadron, Flt Lt Caroline Tracey leaves us to take up a post on Region staff. She has brought the Squadron back in to Wing events, and we now participate more than ever in the calendar of competitions. Cadets will have benefited from her enthusiasm and willingness to get stuck in to events, and they will remember the huge fun and variety of camps and exercises that Caroline planned and brought along to the Squadron.
Her influence and leadership have driven the continued success of the Squadron at staff level too: providing the example and inspiration for several staff to take up uniformed roles on the Squadron. We will miss her hugely, and wish her all the very best for her new role at Regional level.
Flying Officer David Preece RAF VR(T) takes over the Squadron from January 2009. He has been part of the staff team since 2004, and has developed the Squadron’s Training and BTEC roles. He hopes to continue in Caroline’s footsteps, and work with the staff and cadets to bring more success to 1921 in 2009.
